Welcome: AP US History 10

Welcome Back 11th Graders!!! First I would like to say I hope each and everyone had a great and restful summer. I look forward to teaching you a host of new information and several new strategies to assist you in analyzing historical data. The AP US History course is designed to give students an introductory level class for first year college readiness. The Advanced Placement course will be extremely challenging and demanding for outside readings, assessments, presentations, and essays. I am confident that the students in this course will be responsible for their workload and mature enough to handle the pressure. My ultimate goal this year is to help my students think like a historian and formulate their own perspective about events and people of American history. This year will consist of a pivotal presidential election in our nation's history and we will examine the political process that the Constitution has created for the Executive Branch of the United States of America. This course analyzes American History from the beginnings to the Clinton Administration.

Also, list three postseondary institutions that you are interested in and what major(s) you plan to study. 1. My name is FALLIN Ladd and I am a Social Studies Teacher at Woodlawn High School. I am married with two children Collin and Chelslyn and I most times refer to them as My2CBL. I have been teaching for the past 6 years and I have a strong passion for history. I am currently a student at the University of Montevallo working towards my Ed.S. in Teacher Leadership. My short term future goals include teaching at the High School level and my long term future goals include organizing and managing a Child Development Center.
During the summer of 2012, I attended two intensive Professional Development trainings for American History. TAH-Teaching American History Grant Project and Advanced Placement United States History. I am eager to get this course started and allowing students to develop their own perspective toward historical information. The main purpose of this course is to assist students with achieving high scores on the AP exam in May of 2013 to receive college credit in their American History courses. I am looking forward to working with all of my students this year and I expect success from each and every one of you!!!

  4. My name is Adreunna Janae' Richardson. I love indie films and acting. I plan to become a famous actress and film director. The main thing that I like about history is that gives an explanation for almost everything in the world today. One of my dislikes about history is the fact that you never really know the true story of what happened because history is a form of "HIS-story", "HER-story", and "THEIR-story" . My plans for this year are to pass the AP exam, make good grades, and join the airforce. I plan on attending the University of London where I will study at the School of Speech and Drama and later enlist in the film program at UCLA. I enrolled in this class so that I could obtain college credits an focus on other classes while in college. My expectations for this class are to learn everything I need to know in order to pass the AP exam. I also plan on learning more about politics and the economy.

    1. Yes, you will be VERY GOOD at acting lol that really sound like you, i love when you said "HIS-story", "HER-story", and "THEIR-story". That is so true and that's sad, because we need to know the true facts. I really hope you get into the acting career and make it, you can do anything just believe and don't let anyone stop you!

      Have a nice day!! ^_^

I like history because it teaches me more about things that happen in the world that I didn't really know about and what I need to know about. What I dislike about history is it can be a little confusing because you may learn something, but then find out that it's not really what happen. Then you wouldn't know which one to believe. When I graduate from high school I plan on attending Alabama State University, Florida A&M, or University of Alabama in Birmingham.
