  1. Question #1 During 1607-1763 many of the political institutions of England were transmitted to the United States through their establishment during the colonial period. In America, England gained there first experience in developing a plan for control over the colonies. There were many things that led to unity in the colonies, yet things that led to seperation of the colonies. This statment proves it's self in so many ways one way is the voting rights back then. In order to vote you had to be a white wealthy male, and or own your own property, this was more so political. In some ways i reach agreements such as religion, religion brought theses colonies together. During this time every thing that you were to do had a certain leader or in other words some one over you telling you how things are ganna go. The main point is during this time there were different laws that were to be followed and many people agreed , also many disagreed.

    2. Question #2 There are many disputes over religious tolerance and religion itself. During this time period many things had went bad over different religious beliefs. In North America, religious tolerance seemed to be a familiar concept to those living in the area. The tolerance did not extend so far to freedom of religion, but there have been acceptance due to Roger Williams , the Anglicans, and Jonathan Edwards. Roger Williams was a English Protestant minister from the seventeenth century, who urged people to break away from the Church of England. William declined from an offer to be the Teacher of the Boston Church. Williams was exiled to Salem for disseminating new and dangerous opinions. He then went to Rhode Island to escape from his exile. While there Williams built the first Baptist church and established complete freedom of religion. The Anglicans in New England became more calm and relaxed. It also became the official language of Georgia, Norh and Soth Carolina, Virginia,Mary land and apart of Newyork. The main purpose of the religion was so that the goverment could monitor those in the colonies. Jonathan Edwards was a christian preacher and theologian, his theological work is broad scope, but he often associated with reformed theology. Edwards also played a big role in shaping the first Great Awakening and oversaw some of the first revivals in 1733-1735 at his church in North Hampton Massachusetts. All of these people and things had a great deal in the religious role and the tolerations of it. Some having big extents and some having small.

    3. Question # 3 There were many different issues that brought about the American Revolution. As well as political battles, there was a large economical battle taking place in the Colonies because of taxation without representation. The colonist often believed that the British government was cruel and out of control with the taxes they implemented on the colonists. The disputes over trade, government control, and taxes eventually brought about conflict between the colonist and British government. The idea that the colonist should be able to instill some ideas of there own in the way their country was ran. The colonist wanted to be free from the cruel possession that the English government had over them. There general belief was that God intended them to be seperated from Britain. All of these issues are factors to what brought about the American revolution.

  2. QUESTION #1

Between 1607 and 1763, American colonists slowly gained control of their political and economic institutions. I agree ,because they did develop their own cultural and societal ideals .Though, the ideals were prevented until the French and Indian War it didn’t stop them from occurring. They did this after they knew they didn’t have to depend on Britain like they did at first, because of the creation of Jamestown in the year of 1607.The control that Britain had began to weaken and that able American to take control of their on institutions and basically do want they wanted.

    QUESTION #2

At that time, the American colonists had more religious freedom than any other group in the world because of their democratic practices and desire for freedom . Many of others try to come to the colonies trying to escape religious persecution. A reason for an increase in religious toleration is the fact that England tried to use religion to gain better control of the colonies. Religious toleration in the American colonies during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries was influenced by many elements. Diverse settlements, rebellious feelings toward England, education, colonial unification, the Great Awakening, and the British conquest of North America. The Great Awakening, which occurred in the 1730s and 1740s, greatly increased religious toleration in the American colonies. The Quaker movement was another undertaking, not at first in America but in the leading cultural and naval power in the Western World, Great Britain. The Age of Enlightenment was a cultural movement of intellectuals in 18th century Europe and the American colonies.

    QUESTION #3

There were several causes for the American Revolution and two of them were the economic and political changes that the colonies were experiencing. Only the southern colonies were bound to England by the tobacco trade and the New England and Middle Colonies, unable to find markets in Britain. The political changes was the existence of colonial legislatures meant that the colonies were in many ways independent of the crown. The legislatures were allowed to levy taxes, muster troops, and pass laws. As political battles, there was a large economical battle taking places in the colonies because of taxation without representation. The economical disputes were not what originally brought about conflict between the colonists and British government. The economical was the stamp act was the main act of provocation to the colonists . It was protested upon the principle of no taxation without presentation. The stamp act was affecting nearly all the colonists, and restricted economic prosperity, and colonists protested it.

  4. 1) Between 1607 and 1763, The American colonists steadily and slowly began to gain control of their political and economic institutions. They began colonizing in America, forming the thirteen colonies. At first, they depended on Great Britain. Then they began to become less dependent on their mother country. They formed their own continental Congress. They were managing their own trade and selling their crops themselves. This was up until after the French and Indian War.

    2) Religious toleration increased in the American colonies because that was one of the main reason for colonization. The American colonies wanted to be free to openly practice their own religions so it would make sense for them to be more religiously tolerant. One event that may have affected religious tolerance was the Great Awakening. The Great Awakening was a religious renewal in the American colonies where the colonies disassociated themselves with their former approach to worshiping. This started with Wesley Brothers and George Whitefield and spread across the American Colonies. The Quaker Movement was another possible reason. The Quakers were members of the Religious Society of Friends. They were persecuted in England for their opposing views.

    3) The American Colonies had various reasons to revolt against the British. One reason is the taxation of the colonies after the French and Indian War. The British taxed the colonies without representation. They also restricted the colonies trading and took the colonies' materials and used them to make products that they sold back to the colonies. This caused the colonies to become upset. The American colonies also had a over population problem that required them to get more land. The British promised to give the colonies the land they needed to solve this problem after the French and Indian War. They never received this land. So they were overcrowded and technically being cheated out of their own materials and money, making them very upset with Great Britain.

  5. Between the year 1607 and 1763 American colonists were taking many steps towards becoming what They are today; a thriving independent country. They have started from a settlement in Jamestown to fully sustainable city. This all happened successfully with resistance against Great Britain. Settlers gained their independence by protesting , boycotting, warfare, and plenty of complaining. They gained economic independence by boycotting all British products which meant that Great Britain would loose a lot of money. This also showed them that they really don't need them for anything.
America gained political strength by creating their own government. They no longer need the rulings of King George or his money. Though they still needed funds they gained considerable aid from countries like France. Even though America moved at a moderate pace towards freedom, I totally agree with there tactics because in the end they became one of the most wealthiest and developed countries in the world.

  6. Question #1) I kind of disagree that the American colonist gained control of their political and economic intuitions. I say that because England never really lost control of the 13 colonist until the French and Indian war. The British created a policy called Mercantilism. That means that the government and the merchants became partners with the goal of increasing political power and private wealth, to the exclusion of other empires. They controlled everything until the 1754.
Question #2). The American colonist had more religious freedom than the British because of their democratic practices and persistence to gain freedom. They had a common language and similar goals that helped all the colonists feel like one nation.
Question # 3). What provoked the American Revolution first was the Townshend Act. The Townshend Act placed a tax on a number of essential goods including paper, glass, and tea. Next was the Tea Act which placed taxes on tea and to reduce the massive surplus of tea. The Stamp Act obilized opposition to delivery and distribution of the tea. Another was the Molasses Act which placed taxes on molasses. There were many other acts that also provoked the American revolution.

  7. Question2: Religious tolerance was a large contributing factor in the growth of American colonies. Many Europeans realized that they would be safe and accepted in America. They would not have to worry about being looked down upon by their surrounding members of the community. Pilgrims, which are also known as Puritans, colonized in America to practice their religion freely without persecution.

I agree with the statement above because they, Americans boosted their own economy in other ways, such as learning crafts such as, carpenters, silversmiths, black smiths and etcetera. The American colonists also learned their own way of farming. The governments of all the colonies were similar. The office of the governor originated as the head of a joint-stock company, but was transformed into the appointment by the King in the royal colony.

2.) Religious toleration increased because colonies really needed to gain new colonists in order to make their communities more live. Many went to places such as Germany to encourage groups such as Germany to encourage groups to set up in their colonies. The State of Maryland became known for its tolerance of Catholics and Protestants living together.

  12. 3.) There were many causes that sparked the American Revolution, but two that I really main points that I can think of the desire for trade and a belief that the British no longer made decisions. Taxation was another thing was the new Acts placed on the colonies. In 1767 the Townshend laws proposed by Charles Townshend taxed products imported into the American colonies including, tea, molasses, and legal documents.
